Narrative Capacity
Narrative Capacity is the usage-based allocation that fuels every AI action inside the Dramatica platform, from Narrova™ prompts to Storybeat breakdowns and Argument Builder analyses. Think of it as your monthly creative throughput, tuned for narrative work rather than generic "tokens."
Each subscription tier includes a set amount of Narrative Capacity per billing period, calibrated to support different levels of production.
Your available capacity refreshes at the start of every billing cycle. Unused capacity does not roll over, so choose the plan that matches your typical cadence to stay in flow.
When your workload spikes, you can upgrade, downgrade, or add extra capacity blocks at any time with no downtime required.

Transitioning Between Subscription Tiers
Many writers benefit from adjusting subscription tiers based on their project stage. Here's what you need to know when considering a change between Basic, Plus, and Pro tiers:
- Basic to Plus: For deeper narrative exploration, Dramatica Plus offers advanced features and increased Narrative Capacity.
- Plus to Pro: For the highest allowance, onboarding, and API access, Dramatica Pro delivers the comprehensive resources required for professional teams.
How to Upgrade
- Cancel Current Subscription: Log into your account, go to the 'Subscription' section, and cancel your current plan. You'll retain access until the current billing period ends.
- Purchase New Subscription: After cancellation, select and activate your desired new tier.
This straightforward process helps ensure you always have the right tools at your disposal.
Managing Your Subscription
To manage your Dramatica subscription (upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, or invoice downloads), visit your Billing page in your account settings (click the person icon in the top-right corner).
Select Manage My Billing to be redirected to our billing management platform. After making changes, you'll be returned to Dramatica with your updated account.
Working with the Writing Process
Writing involves cycles of development, execution, and refinement. The Dramatica platform respects this cyclical process, making it easy to start, pause, and resume your subscription.
You can subscribe during intense periods of narrative development and pause when ready to write or execute independently. Although we can't offer a formal pause option due to payment provider limitations, we safely store your work for immediate access upon re-subscription.
Please note, prepaid subscriptions begin immediately upon purchase, potentially overlapping any existing active subscriptions.
Cancelling Your Subscription
Canceling your subscription is straightforward but does not offer refunds or credits for unused time. Your access continues until the end of your current subscription period.
To cancel:
- Log into your account.
- Go to Subscription from the menu.
- Click your subscription and follow instructions to cancel.
Prepaid subscriptions begin immediately from purchase date and do not extend existing subscriptions. Currently, no prorating is offered, but we aim to add this feature as Dramatica grows in popularity.
Purchase Parity Option
We offer price parity to users facing financial hardship or located in regions where standard pricing is unaffordable. This option applies only to the Basic tier on a limited basis. Contact us directly to request approval.
Alternate Payment Methods
Subscriptions typically require a credit card, but alternate payment methods (e.g., PayPal) can be arranged manually. Contact in-app Support ("life-preserver" icon at the top of your screen) for assistance. Please allow extra setup time for manual arrangements.

Dramatica continuously evolves with new weekly narrative structures and expanding Storytelling Suggestions, becoming an essential tool for narrative mastery.
Continued subscription ensures constant access to Narrova™, a multi-agentic narrative intelligence that enhances your storytelling skills and deepens your understanding of narrative structure.
While flexible subscription management is encouraged, consistent access offers substantial long-term benefits to your growth and narrative craft.
